Burma's military government has accused supporters of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi of attacking pro-government protesters during the Nobel laureate's recent tour of northern Burma.
In a statement, Rangoon said members of Aung San Suu Kyi's entourage threw stones and assaulted people protesting the Nobel Laureate's National League for Democracy. The military government also accused one NLD member of running over a pro-government protester with a motorcycle.
The allegations come after an NLD spokesman accused government supporters of attacking members Aung San Suu Kyi's entourage. The NLD says its members have been bullied repeatedly by members of the pro-government Union Solidarity Development Association.
