Burma's Foreign Minister Win Aung has arrived in India, his next stop on a planned four-nation visit.
Win Aung arrived in New Delhi Thursday from Islamabad, where he met with President Pervez Musharraf as well as his Pakistani counterpart, Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri. They talked about strengthening relations between the two countries.
Burma's neighbors in Southeast Asia have been unusually critical of Rangoon's treatment of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi. The Nobel Peace Prize winner has been detained since May 30th after a clash between her supporters and pro-government demonstrators.
Previously on his trip, Win Aung visited China and Bangladesh on what is seen as an attempt to generate goodwill and support among other countries that have chosen not to publicly comment on Burma's internal politics.
