Burmese Foreign Minister Win Aung will travel to Bangkok today (Thursday) for talks with Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
The talks are scheduled to focus on economic cooperation among Burma, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. The foreign ministers of Laos and Cambodia are expected to join in four-way talks in Bangkok over the next two days.
But Mr. Thaksin is also expected to hold discussions with Win Aung on Thailand's efforts to promote reconciliation between Burma's military government and the country's pro-democracy opposition.
Thailand has said it wants Burma to show it is serious about reconciliation as a way to improve relations between the two countries.
