President Bush has left the White House for a Christmas week stay at his mountain retreat near Washington. Before heading to Camp David, Mr. Bush hosted one last holiday season party.
The music of Chanukah filled the White House as the president joined in a celebration of the Jewish Festival of Light.
It is a holiday that commemorates an uprising 22 hundred years ago by a small group of fighters against a brutal dictator--a point that was not lost on the president.
President Bush said,"We hope and pray that all who live under tyranny will see their day of freedom."
Earlier in the day, Mr. Bush visited a church in the Washington suburbs that runs programs to help the families of prison inmates. It is part of a nationwide Christian prison ministry that has provided Christmas gifts to more than six million children since 1982.
