Human rights groups says Burmese officials have arrested more members of the opposition National League for Democracy.
The group, Assistance Association for Political Prisoners - Burma, said most of those arrested (December 22nd) were National League for Democracy members from Mandalay.
In a statement, the group said that other opposition party members who recently were released from prison have been arrested again and are now back in jail.
The group says it does not know the reasons for the arrests. But it notes they followed recent visits to Burma by a United Nations human rights official and a delegation from the rights group Amnesty International.
