A senior aide to the chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations committee is warning about a possible nuclear link between North Korea and Burma.
During a speech in Washington (Monday) (at the Heritage Foundation), Keith Luse, an aide to Senator Richard Lugar, said there is a growing relationship between North Korea and Burma.
Mr. Luse, part of a U.S. delegation which recently visited North Korea, says Senator Lugar is concerned that Pyongyang may have provided nuclear technology to the Burmese military and sold Scud missiles to Rangoon.
The State Department later said it could not confirm Mr. Luse's assertions. Spokesman Richard Boucher added that the U.S. position on North Korean nuclear proliferation is "very strong."
