The Chinese Football (soccer) Association says a football match scheduled for next week between China and Burma will go ahead as planned.
China's official Xinhua news agency quotes the Football association as saying it has sent staff members to Guangzhou to organize the game.
Earlier in the week, some Beijing newspapers had reported the game had been canceled because of restrictions on Burmese players entering China from areas affected by bird flu.
Bird flu has been blamed for 22 deaths in Vietnam and Thailand and caused the slaughter of millions of chickens across southeast Asia.
Xinhua says the football game was scheduled as a warm-up for China's national team before its World Cup qualifier against Hong Kong.
