Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Wu Yi is in Burma for talks.
The French news agency quotes Chinese officials as saying Ms. Wu will meet with Burmese Prime Minister Khin Nyunt during her visit. Details of the talks were not released.
Ms. Wu is being joined on her trip by leaders from at least 40 Chinese companies. China is looking to boost trade with Burma in what analysts say is an attempt by Beijing to strengthen its influence in the region.
Ms. Wu is on a four-nation tour that also includes Cambodia, Laos and the Maldives.
