May 27th marks the 14th anniversary of the general election in Burma which was won by the National League for Democracy - the main opposition party led by pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Yet the ruling military junta is still refusing to handover the power to the winning party.
U Lian Uk, a Chin ethnic, who was elected as an independent member of parliament, said the election was intended for transfer of power.
U Mya Win, a member of parliament (MP) of the National League for Democracy said the military broke its promise and lost legitimacy to govern the country.
U Bo Hla Tint, another NLD MP, recounted how his party led by Aung San Suu Kyi won the election despite the regime's harsh restrictions.
