The United States and Britain are circulating to the U.N. Security Council a revised resolution on the transfer of power in Iraq.
U.S. officials said today (Monday) the draft will likely undergo further revisions before it is put to a vote, which is expected late Tuesday.
The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, John Negroponte, says the revised resolution will detail the relationship between the Baghdad government taking power after June 30th and the U.S. - led multi-national force in Iraq.
Russia said today it still has reservations about the resolution, and France is seeking an amendment requiring that the new Iraqi government approve any sensitive military operations by U.S. - led forces.
