Militants linked to the most wanted terrorist in Iraq say they have abducted three Turks and will behead them by Tuesday if Turkish companies do not leave the country.
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group (al-Tawhid and Jihad) made the threat in a statement delivered Saturday to Arabic television network Al-Jazeera. The network also broadcast a video showing three men holding up their passports crouching in front of two masked gunmen.
The abductors called on the Turkish people to stage mass demonstrations against President Bush's visit to Turkey.
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group has claimed responsibility for the beheading of a South Korean contractor (Kim Sun-il) and an American civilian (Nicholas Berg) in Iraq - as well as numerous other attacks.
