Burma says its new foreign minister is on his way to New York to join his country's delegation to the United Nations General Assembly Session.
Nyan Win was appointed to his post earlier this month. Burmese Labor Minister Tin Win is already at the U.N. meeting. Tin Win is a former Burmese ambassador to the United States.
Meanwhile, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage will meet today in Washington with the U.N. Special Representative for Burma, Razali Ismail.
