The head of Burma's military government, General Than Shwe, is expected to travel to India early next week -- the first visit to India by a Burmese head of state in 25 years.
Indian officials say General Than Shwe will arrive on Sunday for five days of talks likely to focus in part on bilateral economic issues.
Relations between the two countries soured after 1988, when Burma's military government accused India of giving refuge to Burmese dissidents.
