Burma's new prime minister, Lieutenant General Soe Win, has arrived in China for his first overseas trip since taking office.
General Soe Win arrived today (Tuesday) to attend a business and investment summit bringing together China and member countries from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The new Burmese prime minister is expected to meet some of his counterparts on the sidelines of the summit.
General Soe Win became Burma's prime minister two weeks ago, replacing ousted General Khin Nyunt.
Chinese state-run television reports officials from Cambodia and Laos also arrived in China today for the summit.
