Burma's military government is cracking down on owners of illegally imported luxury cars.
On Wednesday, Burma announced that unregistered car owners should turn in their vehicles to police stations as soon as possible to avoid any legal problems.
There is no word on when the amnesty will end.
Thousands of luxury cars have been smuggled into Burma in recent years, mostly from China and Thailand.
Analysts say the crackdown may be related to the recent ouster of Prime Minister General Khin Nyunt -- who is may have been involved in smuggling schemes.
