The European Union is calling on Burma's military rulers to release opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
The E.U. released a statement Friday condemning the "continued detention" of the Nobel Peace Prize winner, and also expressed regret that many political dissidents remained in jail.
The E.U. is also calling on Burma's ruling military junta to allow Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy to participate in the upcoming National Convention, and to give U.N. officials unrestricted access to the country.
