Maritime officials in Malaysia say pirates armed with machine guns have attacked a Singapore-flagged tugboat in the Malacca Strait and captured two crewmen.
About 20 heavily-armed pirates in two fishing boats fired on the tug De Ena Sovereign Wednesday as it was pulling a barge from Singapore to the Indian port of Bombay. The pirates seized documents and other valuables and kidnapped the captain and chief engineer.
The two men's whereabouts is unknown. Nobody was injured in the attack.
