Burma's pro-democracy opposition says at least five of its members have been arrested in recent days.
The National League for Democracy says party member Khin Kyaw was taken into custody Wednesday, while the French news agency reports four others were arrested Sunday.
Opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has not been seen in public since May 2003, when she was detained following a clash between her supporters and a pro-government mob in northern Burma. Her supporters say Burma's military government recently extended her house arrest by another year. Information for this story is provided by AP and AFP
