A bomb hidden in a cassette player killed a student Friday and wounded three other youths in southeastern Burma.
The New Light of Myanmar newspaper reported today (Saturday) that Sa Aung Myo Myat, a 21-year-old university student, was killed when he pressed the button on the abandoned cassette player and it exploded.
The bombing, outside a sports shop in the city of Hpa'an, was the second this week. On Tuesday, a small bomb went off in a restaurant in the capital of Rangoon, injuring one person.
A group of anti-junta students claimed responsibility for the blast. The group demanded the release of all political prisoners including democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
Her party, the National League for Democracy, condemned the bombing.
