Energy ministers from India, Bangladesh and Burma are preparing for talks on exploring the possibility of a gas pipeline from Burma to India.
The 2 day tri-nation talks in Rangoon are to begin Wednesday.
India is looking for more fuel as demands soar with rapid economic growth.
Bangladesh newspapers quoted State Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources -- A.K.M. Mosharrof Hossain -- as saying in exchange for allowing the gas pipeline through its territory, Dhaka would seek passage through India for its import of electricity from Nepal and Bhutan.
