ငလျင်ဟာ ပြင်းအား ၆.၂ ရှိပြီး Norcia မြို့ အရှေ့တောင်ဘက် ၁၀ ကီလိုမီတာအကွာလောက်မှာ ဗဟိုပြုပြီး လှုပ်ခတ်သွားတာလို့ အမေရိကန် ဘူမိဗေဒတိုင်းတာရေးဌာနက ပြောပါတယ်။ ငလျင်လှုပ်တာကို ကီလိုမီတာ ၁၅၀ အဝေးမှာရှိတဲ့ ရောမမြို့တော်အပါ အဝင် ဒေသတွင်း နေရာအတော်များများမှာ သိခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။

ဒီကနေ့မနက် အီတလီစံတော်ချိန် ၃ နာရီခွဲကျော်လေးမှာ ငလျင်ကြီးလှုပ်ပြီး နောက်ဆက်တွဲငလျင် အတော်များများလည်း ထပ် လှုပ်ပါတယ်။ လူရာပေါင်းများစွာ ဒဏ်ရာရပြီး လူအများအပြားဟာ ယာယီခိုလှုံဖို့နေရာတွေ လိုနေတယ်လို့ အီတလီ အရပ်ဖက် ကာကွယ်ရေးအေဂျင်စီက ပြောပါတယ်။ ဒီဒေသမှာ ဒီလောက်ပမာဏနဲ့ ဒီလောက်အနက်မှာ ငလျင်လှုပ်တယ်ဆိုရင် အဆောက် အဦးတွေ ပြိုကျစေတာကြောင့် သေဆုံး တာတွေဖြစ်နိုင်ပါတယ်လို့ အေဂျင်စီအကြီးအကဲ Fabrizio Curcio ကပြောပါတယ်။

ငလျင်ဒဏ်ကို အပြင်းထန်ဆုံး ခံစားခဲ့ရတဲ့ထဲမှာ Amatrice နဲ့ Accumoli မြို့တွေလည်းပါပါတယ်။

Amatrice မြို့ရဲ့ နေရာအများအပြား ပျက်စီးသွားတယ်လို့ မြို့တော်ဝန် Sergio Pirozzi က နိုင်ငံပိုင် RAI သတင်းဌာနကို ပြောပါ တယ်။ မိုးလင်းသွားပြီးတဲ့နောက် ပြိုကျသွားတဲ့ အဆောက်အဦး အပျက်အစီးတွေအောက်မှာ ပိတ်မိနေသူတွေကို ကယ်ဆယ်ရေး လုပ်သားတွေ ရှာဖွေ ကယ်ထုတ်နေပါတယ်။ ဒီကနေ့ ငလျင်လှုပ်ခတ်တဲ့နေရာဟာ ၂၀၀၉ ခုနှစ်က ငလျင်ကြီးလှုပ်ခတ်ပြီး လူူပေါင်း ၃၀၀ ထက်မနည်း သေဆုံးခဲ့ရတဲ့ L’Aquila မြို့နဲ့ သိပ်မဝေးပါဘူး။
