Q&A Smith & Beattie / Burma Protest / Burmese security forces moved in today (Thursday) to end protests by local villagers and Buddhist monks at a copper mine in the country's remote northwest ahead of a planned visit by democracy leader and parliamentarian Aung San Suu Kyi. Several people were injured as troops fired water cannon and a weapon that was described as causing burns.
