02-17-05: US Stocks Opens Mostly Lower Thursday

U.S. stock markets have opened mostly lower in Thursday's trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 12 points at 10,823, while the S&P 500 has lost a point at 1,210.

The NASDAQ is higher nearly two points at 2,089. London's Financial Times index is up 21 points at 5,074.

The CAC-40 in Paris is up 10 points to 4,019, and the DAX index in Frankfurt is up 11 points at 4,380.

Tokyo's Nikkei index lost 19 points to finish at 11,583. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index dropped 48 points to end at 13,968.

The price of gold in London is 426 dollars, 40 cents, down 50 cents from late Wednesday. The dollar in London is higher against other major currencies.
