European, Southeast Asian Ministers to Meet in Jakarta

Tsunami relief is on the agenda of Thursday's annual ministerial meeting between the European Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Jakarta.

The EU has donated more then 400 million dollars to help the region recover from the December 26th tsunami.

The ministers will also discuss cooperation on trade and counter-terrorism during the one-day meeting.

The officials are also expected to review the situation in Burma, which will assume the ASEAN presidency in 2006.

The EU has criticized Burma's military rulers for not instituting democratic reforms and has urged ASEAN to push harder for progress.
