Asian stock markets closed mixed today-Thursday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index lost 43 points to finish at 11,078. On Wednesday the index lost 39 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 28 points to end at 13,968. The Hang Seng lost 79 points on Wednesday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index rose eight points to close at 2,181.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bombay, Jakarta, Sydney, Taipei and Wellington. Markets were lower in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul and Shanghai.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 106.20 yen, up 0.62 yen from the same time Wednesday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold lost two dollars, 20 cents to close at 425 dollars, 95 cents an ounce.
