Asian stock markets closed mixed today -Thursday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index gained seven points to finish at an 11 week high of 11,584. On Wednesday the index gained 64 points.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index lost 76 points to end at 14,201. The Hang Seng lost 10 points on Wednesday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index rose 10 points to close at 2,213.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bombay, Seoul, Sydney, Taipei and Wellington. Markets were lower in Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 110.37 yen, up a fraction from the same time Wednesday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold rose two dollars and 20 cents to close at 437 dollars and 25 cents an ounce.
