Malaysian Motorcycle Firm To Expand to Burma, Thailand

A Malaysian motorcycle company has announced plans to expand its operations with new plants in Burma and Thailand next year.

Malaysia's state-run news agency Bernama reports today that Demak motors also plans to expand production by more than 100% at its Indonesian and Philippine plants. The company tells the news agency it hopes to produce 18,000 motorcycles for the Malaysian market this year.

Demak Motors began operations in 2003 and is based in Kuching, Malaysia. The company reports selling 8,000 motorcycles last year.
