China Opposes Draft Resolution to Push Change in Burma

China says it opposes a draft resolution the United States has submitted to the U.N. Security Council declaring Burma's military government a threat to regional security.

China's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Liu Jianchao said today Beijing is firmly against the interference of the U.N. Security Council.

He dismissed Washington's suggestion that Burma is a regional threat and said the situation there is an internal affair.

Russia also opposes the resolution.
