Local media in Burma say more than 900 homes were damaged by last week's storm in the Bay of Bengal and eight people are feared deadBurma Storm Damages 900

The "Myanmar Times" newspaper says winds up to 130 kilometers per hour lashed villages and towns in Rakhine State along the Bay of Bengal.

The weekly said the bad weather sank a boat carrying at least 11 crewmen off Rakhine State. Only three were rescued. Emergency kits have been distributed to storm victims.
