Cambodia, Burma Agree to Direct Flights to Boost Tourism

Cambodia and Burma have agreed to establish direct flights between their main tourist destinations in a bid to boost tourism and attract more international visitors.

Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Nam Hong said today that the flights will connect Bagan and Mandalay in Burma with Cambodia's Siem Rip - near the 800-year old Angkor temples.

Minister Hor Nam Hong made his remarks to reporters in Phnom Penh after returning from a two-day official visit to Burma with Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen.

He did not say when the direct flights will begin.
