Burma Sanctions: Gems, Oil and Money

NCUB Burmese exiled political group urges US Congress to pursue tougher sanctions against the military regime in Burma as brutal crackdown continues on protesters.

During congressional human rights caucus briefing, Secretary General of the National Council for the Union of Burma U Maung Maung said Thursday, "the clock of injustice is ticking. It is only a matter of time for the regime."

Brian Leber, jeweler and expert on the Burmese gem trade and Thea Lee of AFL-CIO's Policy Department also urge congress to enfoce US companies to stop dealing with Burmese gem trade and oil business as military regime continues human rights violations against it's own people.
