Burmese Independent Radio Station Considering Move from Norway to Ireland - 2004-08-05

An independent Burmese radio station is considering moving its base from Norway to Ireland.

The Democratic Voice of Burma announced today (Thursday) its director is in Ireland this week to discuss the possible move.

Burma is run by a military government and its media is tightly controlled. The Democratic Voice of Burma has been broadcasting into the country from Norway since 1992.
