Asian stock markets closed mostly lower Wednesday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index lost 98 points (nearly 1%) to finish at 11,500. The average lost 53 points on Tuesday.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index dropped 133 points (nearly 1%) to finish at 13,958. The Hang Seng lost 21 points Tuesday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index dropped 10 points to close at 2,136.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Jakarta, Manila and Taipei.
Markets were lower in Bombay, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Wellington.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 104.72 yen, up .18 yen from the same time Tuesday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold rose two dollars, 80 cents to close at 433 dollars, 55 cents an ounce.
