Asian stock markets closed higher Wednesday.
Tokyo's Nikkei index gained 80 points to finish at 11,967. The average lost 38 points on Tuesday.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 60 points to end at 13,941. The Hang Seng rose 110 points on Tuesday.
In the region's other big market, Singapore, the Straits Times index added 24 points to close at 2,184.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Taipei and Wellington. Markets were lower in Bombay, Bangkok, Shanghai and Sydney.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 104.62 yen, down 0.39 yen from the same time Tuesday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold rose four dollars, 40 cents to close at 440 dollars, 25 cents.
