European share prices are higher in midday trading Tuesday.
London's Financial Times index is up 21 points at 4,917.
The CAC-40 in Paris is 23 points higher at 4,076, and the DAX index in Frankfurt is up 15 points at 4,356.
The S&P futures is up less than one point.
Tokyo's Nikkei index gained 107 points to finish at 11,774. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was closed.
The price of gold in London is 423 dollars, 70 cents an ounce -- up 50 cents from Monday. The dollar in London is higher against other major currencies.
