U.S. stock market indexes rose in early trading on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 26 points to reach 10,484.
The S & P 500 moved up three points to hit 1185, while the NASDAQ advanced eight points to climb to 2007.
European share prices are mixed in mid-day trading.
London's Financial Times index is down slightly while the CAC-40 in Paris, and the DAX index in Frankfurt moved up one-tenth of a percent or more.
Earlier in Asia, Tokyo's Nikkei index gained 53 points to finish at 11,827. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 49 points to end at 13,562.
The price of gold is up half-a-dollar, trading at $425.90 an ounce.
The dollar in London is up against the yen and the euro.
