European share prices are higher in midday trading Tuesday.
London's Financial Times index is up 12 points at 4,839. The CAC-40 in Paris is 16 points higher at 3,965, and the DAX index in Frankfurt is up 12 points at 4,214.
The S&P futures contract is up about two points, indicating a slightly higher opening for U.S. stocks.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange's Nikkei Average rose 127 points to finish at 11,066 points.
The Hang Seng in Hong Kong closed 89 points higher at 13,444. The price of gold in London is 426 dollars, 90 cents an ounce, up 30 cents from Monday. The dollar in London is mixed against other major currencies.
