European share prices are mixed in midday trading Wednesday.
London's Financial Times index is down 14 points at 4,878.
The CAC-40 in Paris is eight points lower at 3,992 and the DAX index in Frankfurt is six points higher at 4,257.
The S&P futures contract is up almost three points.
Tokyo's Nikkei index lost 39 points to finish at 11,121. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index closed down 79 points at 13,940.
The price of gold in London is $428.35 cents an ounce, up $1.05 from late Tuesday.
The dollar in London is lower against other major currencies.
