European share prices closed higher Monday.
The CAC-40 in Paris gained three points to close at 4,134, and the DAX index in Frankfurt rose 36 points, closing at 4,480.
Markets in London and in the United States are closed for holidays. They will reopen Tuesday.
In Asia, Tokyo's Nikkei index gained 74 points to finish at 11,266. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index closed nearly one percent (130 points) higher at 13,845.
The dollar is higher in Europe against the other major currencies.
