European share prices are slightly higher in midday trading today-Friday.
London's Financial Times index is up less than a point at 5005. The CAC-40 in Paris is also less than a point higher at 4184, and the DAX index in Frankfurt moved up six points at 4539.
The S&P futures index is down just over a point, indicating a slightly lower opening on Wall Street.
Tokyo's NIkkei index rose 20 points to finish at 11,300. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index closed four points higher at 13,818.
The price of gold in London is 423 dollars and 20 cents an ounce, up two dollars and 80 cents from late Thursday.
The dollar is lower in Europe against the other major currencies.
