The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 31 points at 10,481. The S&P 500 fell nearly three points to 1,195.
The NASDAQ is also down nearly two points at 2,061.
London's Financial Times index is down more than one point at 5,029.
The CAC-40 in Paris is down less than one point at 4,184, and the DAX index in Frankfurt fell 14 points to 4,572.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange's Nikkei Average rose seven points to finish at 11,312.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng closed at 13,952, up 17 points.
The price of gold in London is $431.00, up $1.70 cents.
The dollar in London is higher against other major currencies.
