Burma has begun rail service between Rangoon and the country's new administrative capital, Pyinmanar.
The New Light of Myanmar newspaper reports train service began operating Tuesday, using rail equipment the military government bought from India.
The generals who ruled Burma unexpectedly announced last month that they had shifted most government operations and offices to Pyinmanar, a logging town 320 kilometers north of Rangoon.
