A Thai energy firm says it has found natural gas in Burma but is not yet sure of the size of the find. The PTT Exploration and Production Company says it plans to drill six exploration wells to assess the potential of the field.
In a letter notifying the Thai stock exchange of the find, the firm's president said the new wells will also allow the company to establish a production schedule for the Burmese gas.
Wednesday, Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra characterized the find as "huge."
