Burma's military rulers have given permission for United Nations special envoy Razali Ismail to visit the country again next month.
Officials in Rangoon confirm the visit is scheduled for June. Mr. Razali will resume his mission to speed up reconciliation talks between military leaders and the opposition National League for Democracy.
Mr. Razali is credited with brokering landmark secret talks between the military and NLD leader Aung San Suu Kyi in October 2000. This will be his first visit to the country in more than six months.
The UN envoy has said he will attempt to initiate meetings bringing together military leaders, the NLD and ethnic minority groups.
