United Nations refugee officials say most of the asylum seekers arrested by Malaysian police in Kuala Lumpur Tuesday are from Burma.
Police detained at least 40 would-be migrants as they approached the local headquarters of the UN refugee agency to file their applications.
Police say the would-be refugees did not have valid identity papers and were sent to a detention camp in northern Perak state--the likely first step towards deportation.
