အခုလို မစ္စတာ Glenn ကွယ်လွန်သွားတာဟာ အမေရိကန်နိုင်ငံရဲ့ နိုင်ငံအကျိုးပြု အထင်ကရ ပုဂ္ဂိုလ်တဦး ဆုံးပါးသွားတာ ဖြစ်သလို သူတို့ ဇနီးမောင်နှံအတွက်လည်း မိတ်ဆွေတယောက် ဆုံးပါးသွားတာ ဖြစ်ကြောင်း သမ္မတ Barack Obama က ကြေညာချက် ထုတ်ပြန် ပြောဆိုပါတယ်။

၁၉၆၂ ခုနှစ် ဖေဖေါ်ဝါရီလ ထဲမှာတော့ Friendship 7 လို့ နာမည်ပေးထားတဲ့ အာကာသယာဉ်နဲ့ ၅ နာရီနီးပါး ကြာအောင် ကမ္ဘာကို ပတ်ခဲ့တဲ့ ပထမဆုံး အမေရိကန် အာကာသယာဉ်မှုး ဖြစ်လာတာပါ။ ၁၉၉၈ ခုနှစ်မှာ အမေရိကန် အာကာသယာဉ် Discovery နဲ့ အာကာသထဲ လိုက်ပါ ခဲ့တာမို့ သူဟာ အသက် အကြီးဆုံး အာကာသ ခရီးသွားသူ တယောက် အဖြစ်မှတ်တမ်း ဝင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

John Glenn ဟာ နိုင်ငံရေးကို စိတ်ဝင်စားသူ တယောက်ပါ။ ၁၉၆၄ ခုနှစ်မှာ Ohio ပြည်နယ် အထက်လွှတ်တော်မှာ ဒီမိုကရက်တစ် ပါတီက အမတ်တဦးအဖြစ် တာဝန်ယူခဲ့ပြီး ၁၉၉၉ ခုနှစ်အထိ အထက်လွှတ်တော်မှာ အဖွဲ့ဝင်အဖြစ် ရှိနေခဲ့တာပါ။ အထက်လွှတ်တော်အမတ် တာဝန် ထမ်းဆောင်နေတဲ့ မစ္စတာ Glen ဟာ ၁၉၉၈ ခုနှစ်မှာ NASA ရဲ့ စေလွှတ်မှုနဲ့ အာကာသထဲ နောက်ဆုံး အဖြစ် ၉ ရက်ခရီး ထပ်သွားခဲ့တာ ဖြစ်ပြီး အဲဒီအချိန်က သူဟာ အသက် ၇၇ နှစ်ရှိနေပြီဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အထက်လွှတ်တော်ကနေ အနားယူခဲ့ပြီးတဲ့ နောက်မှာ သူဟာ Ohio တက္ကသိုလ်မှာ လူထုအကျိုးပြု ကျောင်းတကျောင်း တည်ထောင်ဖို့ ကူညီခဲ့တာပါ။
