U.S. stock market indexes moved up Thursday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average moved up 85 points to finish at 10,749. The S&P 500 advanced five points to end at 1,197, while the NASDAQ gained one point to hit 2,053.
Earlier, European shares were mixed at the close of trading.
London's Financial Times index was up 10 points to finish at 5,000. The CAC-40 in Paris advanced one point to finish at 3,970 and the DAX index in Frankfurt dropped 11 points to end at 4,342.
The price of gold is up more than four dollars, trading at 418 dollars an ounce in New York. The dollar in New York is up against the yen, but declined in value compared to the euro.
