Ukrainian officials say former Interior Minister has been found dead at his home outside Kiev, on the same day he was to be questioned about the 2000 murder of an investigative journalist.
An Interior Ministry spokeswoman Inna Kisel said Mr. Kravchenko apparently committed suicide.
He had been scheduled to give testimony to prosecutors Friday in the investigation into the killing of investigative journalist Georgy Gongadze.
Mr. Gongadze, who wrote about alleged high-level corruption, was abducted in Kiev in September 2000, and his headless body was discovered months later buried in a forest outside the capital.
Ukraine's Prosecutor General said Wednesday that investigators had identified four people they believed were directly involved in the journalist's murder and that two of them were in custody.
