Asian stock markets closed mostly higher Friday, following gains on Wall Street.
Tokyo's Nikkei index rose 1.1% (127 points), to close at 11,658. The Nikkei rose slightly Thursday.
Hong Kong's key index, the Hang Seng, gained a fraction of 1% (96 points), to finish at 14,157.
The Hang Seng rose nearly 1% Thursday.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Bangkok, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney, Taipei, and Wellington. Markets closed lower in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bombay.
Manila markets were closed for a public holiday.
The U.S. dollar was quoted at 105.29 yen in Tokyo, up 0.61 yen from late Thursday in Tokyo.
The price of gold in Hong Kong fell two dollars and 30 cents to close at 432 dollars and 95 cents an ounce.
