European share prices are higher in midday trading Friday.
London's Financial Times index is up 13 points at 4,987. The CAC-40 in Paris is 22 points higher at 4,060, and the DAX index in Frankfurt is up 28 points at 4,366.
The S&P futures contract is up just more than one point, indicating a slightly higher opening for U.S. stocks.
Tokyo's Nikkei index rose 59 points, to close at 11,924. Hong Kong's key index, the Hang Seng, ended 35 points higher to finish at 13,891.
The price of gold in London is 440 dollars, 95 cents an ounce, up 15 cents from Thursday. The dollar in London is higher against most other major currencies.
